A Family Estate, Re-imagined
Sandon Manor has been in our family since 1540. Nearly five centuries later, brother and sister Mark Faure Walker and Katherine (Kate) Redfern are continuing its story, bringing together centuries of heritage, contemporary design, unforgettable celebrations and a passion for nature. Under Mark and Kate’s direction Sandon Manor has evolved into an exclusive wedding venue, luxury countryside retreat and destination for inspiring business offsite, surrounded by 1,000 acres of rewilded nature reserves.
The story of this transformation began with their father, Teddy Faure Walker, who farmed at Sandon Bury Farm and started restoring the estate’s historic buildings in 2012. Growing up at Sandon Manor, Mark and Kate shared a childhood filled with countryside adventures, family gatherings and celebrations. Today, they have built on that heritage, creating beautiful places to stay, celebrate and connect, while working to restore the surrounding landscape for future generations.
Our Nature Story - A Wild Future
Led by Mark Faure Walker, Sandon Manor’s ambitious rewilding programme is helping nature flourish across the estate. From restoring wildflower meadows and creating wildlife ponds to protecting ancient woodlands and developing diverse natural habitats, sustainability and biodiversity are central to Sandon Manor’s future.
Guests can explore the nature reserves, enjoy immersive estate experiences and discover the beauty of a landscape being given space to thrive.
Our Team — The People Behind Sandon Manor
Sandon Manor is shaped by the people who care for it. As directors and co-founders of the venue and hospitality business, Mark leads the estate’s nature recovery and rewilding, while Kate, Sandon Manor’s in-house designer, brings her creative vision to the historic buildings, luxury accommodation and stylish entertaining spaces.
Alongside them, our small, dedicated events, hospitality and estate team bring warmth, creativity and attention to detail to every wedding, celebration, business retreat and countryside stay. Welcoming all guests to Sandon Manor.
Our History — Centuries of Character
From its origins recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 to the magnificent Medieval Barn and historic Manor House, Sandon Manor has a story spanning centuries.
A working agricultural estate, Sandon Manor has been carefully restored and reimagined, preserving its architectural character while introducing contemporary spaces designed for gathering, entertaining and enjoying life.
Our family’s connection to Sandon Manor continues to shape its future, ensuring that the estate’s remarkable history remains part of every new chapter.
